This GM TDH 5301 New Look model features detailed interior and exterior, is 1/43 scale or measures about 11 1/2 Inches long x 2 3/4 Inches wide x  3 Inches high . The model bus has a plastic body with a diecast metal chassis.

The first shipments of GM New Look buses began in September 1959 with an order for 75 air-conditioned transit buses to the D.C. Transit System of Washington, D.C. This made D.C. Transit the largest operator of air-conditioned transit buses in the world at the time. The buses purchased for $32,500 each, were introduced in a large gala event and then joined a procession of over 115 new and vintage buses led by a horse-drawn streetcar, and proceeded down Pennsylvania Avenue creating what O.Roy Chalk, the president of D.C. Transit termed, a "Travelcade of America".

On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, the GM New Look transit bus remains an iconic part of North American transit bus history.
